Finally Pakistani export able to get huge export order of face mask in corona virus pandemic

According to Abdul Razaq Dawood, Pakistan has received a massive number of orders for face masks from international market including US, Canada and Europe.

Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razaq Dawood said that he has received information that some Pakistani exporters have obtained large orders for face masks from US, Canada and Europe and termed this is a major breakthrough.

“It is part of our strategy to diversify into new segments and this has been achieved by the exporters through their own efforts. I’m sharing this information with others to encourage them to seek more orders from different parts of the world,” added the Advisor.

The government had approved export of textile masks across the world to earn foreign exchange for the country except for surgical and N-95 masks.

According to a letter of Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, in a letter to Chairperson Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Nausheen Javaid Amjad, National Command and Operations Committee (NCOC) has deliberated upon the issue of purported ban imposed on export of cotton masks in its meeting held on April 16, followed by April 20, 2020.

Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination had clarified that the federal government has imposed a ban on the exports of N-95 and surgical masks only.

During corona virus pandemic Pakistan face decline of 47.24% in April 2020, with their value dropping from $1.81 billion in the previous month to $957 million, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The export of face mask to world will help Pakistan in reduction of foreign reserve. Especially in covid 19 pandemic this massive order of face mask will help developing country like Pakistan.
